"Hunkerers" of the Coast, Unite!

Now the folks up in the Surf City, Topsail Beach and Snead's Ferry area can learn how to "Hunker in the Bunker" with the best of us, thanks to the folks at Topsail Magazine who picked up my column!

But an update from yesterday's pre-storm column is necessary.

When I wrote the story, I had no idea that Cat 1 Hurricane Isaias would actually make landfall in my backyard at Ocean Isle Beach. It was, therefore, a three-stout night.

While we were fortunate to have suffered no damage--not even a power outage--some folks "on the island" were not so lucky. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them.
