Just The (Wet) Ticket

SubScout Gonzo was back on duty recently, buoyed, no doubt, by the rave reviews his last effort on these pages garnered. Possessed of the drive which requires that he share his good beer fortune with others, he offers herewith what The PubScout calls a "Quick Hit"--a short, but important, discovery for the knowledgeable beer lovers who follow this blog. Gonzo's actually getting excited about his burgeoning role here and its concomitant popularity. In fact, one might say he's Fully Juiced. Enjoy!

The good folks at Wet Ticket Brewing have built themselves quite the reputation for producing quality beers. The secret to their success comes from paying close attention to detail, using quality ingredients, and relying on the feedback of their customers.

Brewer Tim Pewitt, a wicked smart son of a gun, invited me in to sample his latest and greatest beer creation and this is what I found:

Fully Juiced, a classic New England IPA, is a sensation right from the start. It pours into a beautiful orange-yellow haze of floral citrus goodness. The nose is a fruity combination of mango, papaya, and some sweet grapefruit coupled with the real floral essence of some great hops. Idaho Seven, Mosaic, and Citra hops come together as the Holy Trinity in this magnificent brew.

It's clean and well balanced from start to finish. The hops and citrus flavor linger on your palate just long enough for you to want to take another swig.

Tim gave me the inside scoop on this beauty: “The Fully Juiced is dry hopped just before the fermentation process begins, where the yeast and hops do their mixing, called biotransformation.” Simply stated, “it’s where they do their dance during the dry hopping of the beer,” Tim explained.

The result is a well-balanced, clean finish, great tasting beer with a hearty 7.2% ABV. The brewers are so sure you are going to love Fully Juiced, that if you find it's not to your liking “we will gladly replace it with anything else on tap in the brewery.”

Currently, Fully Juiced is in the testing stages, but after such a positive response by a small group of expertly trained taste-testers (yours truly among them), it will be going to full production this week. It should be be available for your consumption at the Rahway brewery soon, where crowler and growler fills will be available.

I can’t wait to go and have my share, and I hope to see you there!

Cheers!

Gonzo

So not only is Gonzo expanding his beer horizons and sharing them, it appears he's venturing into the realm of poetry with that last line. Should the ghosts of Robert Frost and Edgar Allan Poe be worried? Gonzo's son (above) approves!

Cheers!
