Hello, Dolly!

The inimitable Michael Jackson, The British Bard of Beer, had a standard opening line when speaking in public that never failed to get a laugh:

"Some people say that if you don't drink beer, you'll live longer. That's not true. It only seems longer."

Since then, of course, numerous health studies have shown that a moderate intake of alcohol via beer is indeed very healthy.

But it seems that serving it and being around people who enjoy it has a salubrious effect, as well, at least if Dolly Saville is any measure. Judging by her quote, The PubScout's guess is that much of her longevity has to do with her outlook on life.

And perhaps there's a lesson there, too.
