Pairing Beer and Food--Here's Looking At You
The PubScout was contacted recently by a representative of The Kremer Eye Center with an offer I thought was worthwhile for my readers. The rep, named Krista, offered a free guide to pairing food and beer to post here on my site if I posted a link to their services, which I have done above. This does not mean I personally endorse the service ( having never used the service, that would be unethical ), but good eyes have always been a PubScout requirement for appreciating good beer. And if these folks can help you improve yours, that's good. Sight is one of the four senses critical to beer appreciation, the others being touch, smell and taste. Of course, hearing plays a role as well, especially when you clink glasses for a toast.
So, with the holidays approaching their annual crescendo, here's a Christmas present from The PubScout and the Kremer Eye Center.
And, for the record, glass-bottomed steins were created for a specific reason. In days gone by, when drinking in pubs and taverns where the clientele was far from genteel--and very likely to assault you while you were quaffing, the glass bottom allowed quaffers to see which brigand might be attempting an assault on you while in mid-quaff. And it's also where the term "Here's looking at you!" was was born.
See what you can learn when you read The PubScout's blog?
Enjoy. And, of course, always drink responsibly. So you can see where you're going.
Cheers!
