The PubScout's PSA for September (No Pun Intended)
September is Prostate Cancer Awareness month. It doesn't get as much airtime as some of the other special "months," nor will NFL players be wearing the turquoise accoutrements like they do when it's "pink" season. But it SHOULD get just as much play.
As a survivor, The PubScout encourages all men to get tested early. If you are someone who has a man that you love, you should encourage him, too. This little video, produced by my son Kaz as a Public Service Announcement some time ago, is a testimony to the care I received. It's only a minute long, but it's given me many extra years, and I'm eternally grateful.
In the beer world, there's a wonderful movement called "Pints for Prostates" which works to raise awareness, and their site is worth checking out.
Of course, PSA is a number critical to men, and the title above suggests its double meaning here. If you have any questions about the treatment that worked for me, send me an email.
No ice buckets, no fanfare and no BS. But if you take away just one message from this PSA, remember this:
Na Zdravi!
Cheers!
