Everybody Hurts...

Amid the daily doses of disturbing news about the effects of this pandemic on average folks, I ran across this article by Mike Roosevelt. Click the link and give it five minutes of your time.

Mike owns a brewery in Jersey, and his writing drives home just how real this crisis is for the "little" guy. While he addresses his own specific issues, those issues apply, in one way or another, to the owners of any and every small business--indeed, to most Americans who have bills to pay.

What can we do? What can be done? There are no easy answers until we get on the other side of this pandemic. But until that time, the government needs to consider taking the action Mike recommends.

Those businesses don't reap all the rewards, either, as they employ, both full and part time, other Americans whose income streams dry up. And their inability to participate in the economy has deleterious effects on it.

There is one thing we can do, and that is too support the little guys in whatever ways we can--buying curbside, ordering gift cards, and patronizing their businesses in whatever way works to our mutual benefit.

Because we're all in this together. And some of us are in "deeper" than others.

Let's help where we can.

Cheers!
